About The Position

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) position is a part-time role focused on providing support in school-based settings in North Austin. The role involves developing and implementing behavior plans and treatment strategies for students, conducting functional behavior assessments, and ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and regulations. The BCBA will work closely with students, families, and support staff to create a positive learning environment and facilitate effective behavior strategies.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
  • Current and valid BCBA certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Valid Texas Driver's license and safe driving record

  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis, function analysis and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills
  • Ability to work with a variety of clients in regard to age, functionality with minimal direction
  • Possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop behavior plans and treatment plans for students as well as facilitate appropriate behavior strategies
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and skills assessments using evidence-based tools
  • Maintain compliance with relevant ethical guidelines, laws, and regulations (e.g., BACB Code of Ethics)
  • Provide ongoing support to direct support professionals, ABA implementers and other individuals in support roles for families
  • Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools to conduct functional assessments and analysis when appropriate
  • Create/maintain a data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for students; analyze data to implement best practices
  • Provide appropriate service to each student on the caseload
  • Establish open, frequent communication with parents and all related service staff
  • Make recommendations for the time needed to implement behavioral goals
  • Participate in appropriate staff meetings as requested
  • Establish and maintain a positive working atmosphere with staff in order to encourage a positive learning environment for students
  • Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
  • Strong family engagement and communication skills
