About The Position

The BC Sr. Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining solutions within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment. The role will work closely with functional teams to understand business requirements, configure the system, develop custom solutions, and integrate Business Central with other enterprise applications. The BC Sr. Developer will also play a large role proactively working with consultants to turn customer desires into a reality.

Requirements

• 10+ of development experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Business Central
• Experience working with common third-party add-on solutions and their integration with Business Central. NAV/BC desired (for example: Lanham, ChargeLogic).
• Extremely strong legacy NAV to Business Central upgrade experience
• Strong proficiency in AL development language.
• Strong understanding of core BC modules.
• Excellent analytical skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Experience in training end-users and providing technical support.
• Adept in navigating creative workarounds and circumventing technical issues.
• Exceptional collaborator with both strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage NAV to Business Central (on premise and cloud) upgrades. NOTE: This is a required skill for this role.
• Analyze and assess legacy databases to determine level of effort to upgrade client systems.
• Convert legacy C/AL code to AL extensions
• Handle on-premise to cloud architectural shifts, such as dotnet and file management refactoring (flat file to API conversions)
• Data migration through appropriate interim versions
• Troubleshooting upgrade issues
• Go live planning and execution
• Design, develop, and maintain custom modules and extensions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central using AL programming language.
• Customize standard Business Central functionality to meet specific business requirements.
• Develop integrations between Business Central and third-party systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, payment gateways, etc.).
• Implement workflow automation and business logic through AL code.
• Work with project teams to understand client needs and pain points.
• Configure Business Central for various business processes.
• Work with functional consultants to gather and translate business requirements into system configuration and development solutions.
• Implement and maintain application interfaces and ensure seamless system integrations.
• Identify and resolve system issues, bugs, and performance problems in a timely manner.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end users.
• Support consultants on technical training for customers.
• Work with cross-functional teams including functional consultants, business analysts, and project managers to ensure successful system implementation and maintenance.
• Create technical documentation for customizations, integrations, and configurations to ensure knowledge transfer.
• Conduct system tests and ensure that solutions meet user acceptance criteria and business requirements.
• Stay up to date with the latest BC features and best practices.
• Proactively identify opportunities for system and process enhancement.
