About The Position
The BCArc Academy is a unique program designed specifically for recent high school graduates (2024) who are looking to enter the workforce before pursuing higher education. As a Direct Care Professional, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with disabilities in various aspects of daily living. This position is not just a job; it is an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of those you support, helping them to grow towards independence and achieve their personal goals. As a member of the BCArc Academy, you will rotate through several departments within BCArc, gaining valuable experience in different roles within the human services field. This includes exposure to Family Advocacy, Day Habilitation Services, Community-Based Day Services, Employment Services, and Residential Services. The diverse experiences will equip you with a well-rounded understanding of the various facets of care and support for individuals with disabilities. Working at BCArc is not only rewarding but also offers a pathway for career advancement. Many staff members find long-term fulfillment in their roles, whether by staying in the same home, transitioning to other community-based programs, or advancing into management positions within BCArc. Additionally, BCArc Academy members will receive a $3,000 stipend at the end of the year-long program, along with a $2,000 bonus after six months of full-time employment. Members also benefit from free tuition for all Massachusetts public colleges after six months of employment, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to further their education while gaining practical experience in the field.
