About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at the Mental Health Resource Center involves providing and overseeing quality care for patients in inpatient psychiatric facilities. The role is fast-paced and requires collaboration with a treatment team to ensure effective patient care, particularly for those admitted involuntarily under the Baker Act. RNs will be responsible for various nursing duties, including medication administration, patient assessments, and care planning, while working in a supportive team-oriented environment.

Requirements

• Valid State of Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in medication administration and patient care.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with patients and families.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions independently.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in psychiatric nursing or crisis stabilization units.
• Certification in Crisis Intervention or similar training.

Responsibilities

• Provide and oversee quality and compassionate care for patients in psychiatric facilities.
• Administer medications and provide routine and emergency medical care as needed.
• Assess the needs and problems of patients and plan care in cooperation with the treatment team.
• Monitor and observe patients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Oversee the care provided by Behavioral Healthcare Assistants.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance Standards for Behavioral Health Services and Joint Commission standards.
• Participate in training programs, including Crisis Intervention and CPR.
