About The Position

QVC's Distribution Division has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to provide assistance as a Battery and Warehouse Assistant in our Maintenance Department at our Florence location. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, this position assists in the collection of cardboard and debris throughout the site, including Jewelry. The position provides facilities support in general housekeeping, trash removal; sorts stretch film, other recyclable materials, and trash for recycling. Changes P.I.T. batteries and maintains operating capability and general cleanliness of battery changing area. This position requires the operation of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including gas powered fork trucks, TSP's, PE's, RR's, RC's, scissors lifts, boom lifts, one-man lifts, and gas powered floor sweepers. The successful team player will be asked to assist in battery changing and floor sweeping, as well as assist with facility events, indoors and outdoors. Follows all company safety and security procedures. Maintains a clean and orderly work area. Performs other related activities as assigned and needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent combination of training and education.
• Must be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as assigned.
• Must be able to repeatedly lift 50 lbs.
• Must be MHE certified on all equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the collection of cardboard and debris throughout the site.
• Provide facilities support in general housekeeping and trash removal.
• Sort stretch film, other recyclable materials, and trash for recycling.
• Change P.I.T. batteries and maintain operating capability of the battery changing area.
• Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including gas powered fork trucks, TSP's, PE's, RR's, RC's, scissors lifts, boom lifts, one-man lifts, and gas powered floor sweepers.
• Clear jams and assist in the repairs of facilities machinery.
• Maintain the facilities appearance.
• Assist in battery changing and floor sweeping.
• Assist with facility events, indoors and outdoors.
• Follow all company safety and security procedures.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Perform other related activities as assigned and needed.
