About The Position

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Battery Technician to join our team based in Mobile, AL. The Battery Shop Technician is responsible for the testing, charging and maintaining Aircraft Lead Acid and Ni-Cad Batteries per OEM and Airbus specifications and maintaining logs in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Transport Canada (TCCA) requirements. Join our team and help build the next generation of aircraft. Your working environment: Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond. Requirements

  • Ability to safely use different types of electrical measurement equipment (ex. multimeter)
  • Ability to safely use different types of charging equipment
  • Ability to safely move, store and handle batteries
  • Safe use of various electrical measuring techniques used to validate conformance to requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent Trade Schools
  • Minimum five (5) years of relative experience (detailed apprenticeship or trade school certification plus experience can be substituted for years of experience).
  • Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens or controls on machines, lathes, etc.
  • Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation
  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying sizes with or without amplification.
  • Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 35lbs/23kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom
  • Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time while
  • Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips, and sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces other business interactions
