About The Position
The Battery Technician II (DC Power) position in Phoenix, AZ, is a critical role responsible for the startup, certification, preventative maintenance, and scheduled maintenance of battery systems associated with Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. The technician will be involved in various tasks that ensure the reliability and efficiency of battery systems, which are essential for maintaining power during outages. This position requires a hands-on approach, as the technician will assist with battery replacements and new installations, ensuring minimal disruption to customers during preventative maintenance activities. The role also involves interaction with both internal and external customers, necessitating effective communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset. In addition to technical skills, the technician must adhere to strict operational, maintenance, and emergency methods of procedure (MOPs) to ensure safety and compliance with critical facility work rules. The job requires the ability to use hand and general maintenance tools and equipment, as well as maintaining a clean job site during installations and maintenance tasks. The technician will also be expected to assist in other service divisions, such as Switch Gear, Operations, and HVAC, as needed, demonstrating versatility and teamwork. The position offers opportunities for learning and growth, as the technician will gain experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs with minimal supervision. The role requires regular and reliable attendance, and the technician may be assigned additional duties by Services Management as necessary. Travel is expected to be up to 50%, which may involve visiting various job sites to perform maintenance and repairs.
