Are you an Electrical/ Computer/ Computer Science/Mechanical Engineer with 6 to 20+ years of experience within High Voltage Battery Systems and looking for the next step to grow your career? Do you want to design technology leading products that really matter and be a part of a cause greater than yourself? The Controls and Avionics Solutions (CAS) and Power and Propulsion Solution (PPS) business areas are experiencing unprecedented growth. Engineers will develop flight and mission-critical products for more than 170 commercial and military customers. You will have the opportunity to help design and develop the next generation: Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls, Aircraft Engine Controls, Ground Vehicle Power Management Systems, Aircraft Electrification Systems, Advanced Air Mobility Systems, Autonomous Flight Systems, Flight Deck Systems, Cabin Management Systems, Weapon Control Systems, and Mission Systems for the world's most prominent commercial and military aircraft and vehicle manufacturers. Candidates for this position can expect to work in mid-size teams that are cooperative, dependable, and supportive, working both co-located in a hybrid environment and geographically distributed.

  • Developing, allocating, and managing complex system, hardware, and software requirements for HV Battery Systems and Battery management systems
  • Researching and developing complex, safety-critical, high-power battery system designs and architectures
  • Defining hardware, software, and programmable logic interfaces and functionality
  • Preparing and reviewing documentation for system designs and architectures
  • Performing system and/or product integration
  • Verifying and validating complex aspects of system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical Engineering, or related field, and minimum of 6 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Must have High Voltage Battery systems knowledge and experience
  • Must have cell level knowledge (NMC/NCA)
  • Must have experience taking a program from concept to full scale production
  • Must have experience of taking a battery design from a blank slate and execute it in requirements and architecture and then in Hardware and Software
  • Ability to work effectively on a team either on-site or remotely
  • Willingness to perform a wide variety of related tasks
  • Working knowledge of drawing and configuration management practices
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing
  • High Voltage testing background: Systems, Hardware, Software, Safety
  • Battery Management Experience (BMS): Hardware, Software
  • Basic understanding of Battery algorithms: SOC (State of Charge), SOP (State of Power), SOH (State of Health), Contactor Control, Battery Safety Algorithms
  • Master's Degree in a related engineering field
  • Experience with development of formal validation and verification procedures
  • Knowledgeable of commercial and military certification objectives and activities
  • Working knowledge of model-based development of systems and/or software
  • Demonstrated experience testing batteries and power systems
  • Demonstrated experience with deploying battery systems for safety-critical applications
  • Knowledge of ARP-4754A and ARP-4761, DO-311A, and FAA TSO process
  • Familiarity with military and/or commercial standards
  • Proven ability to effectively lead a small team in the solution of open ended problems
