As our new Technician you will manufacture and test various levels of electromechanical assemblies aligning to autonomous vehicles and auxiliary equipment per drawing specifications. Your duties and responsibilities include the following: What you will be doing..Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Exclude technicians working in production or quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years related experience.
  • Experience with lithium-ion battery systems or energy storage systems.
  • Strong experience working with Battery Management Systems (BMS) and controller board systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot electronics at the component and system level.
  • Experience with high-voltage DC systems (typically 48V–1000V DC).
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and data loggers.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical troubleshooting efforts independently
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a goverment clearance #LI-MH1

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Electronics Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • J-STD soldering certification, or ability to obtain
  • IPC 610 certification for the Acceptability of Electronic assemblies, or ability to obtain
  • IPC 620 certification for Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies, or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Perform integration, assembly, and test of new systems vehicles and auxiliary equipment from work instructions and assembly drawings
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and root-cause analysis on lithium-ion battery packs, modules, cells, and related power electronics.
  • Troubleshoot, configure, and validate Battery Management Systems (BMS), controller boards, firmware, and communication interfaces
  • Commission new battery systems and support system integration with inverters, chargers, and energy management systems.
  • Safely perform high and low-voltage testing, verification, and isolation in accordance with company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Aid in the development and execute test plans, validation procedures, and functional checks for battery systems and controllers.
  • Lead complex repairs and failure investigations, including thermal, electrical, and mechanical issues.
  • Provide technical mentorship and training to Level I and Level II technicians.
  • Create and maintain documentation including troubleshooting guides, wiring diagrams, and service reports.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve system reliability, uptime, and safety.
  • Collaborate with engineering on design feedback, field issues, and product improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
