About The Position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. As a Battery and Power Subject Matter Expert with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following: Advise top Pentagon leadership on energy issues. Support the Office of Critical Technologies as it guides and supports modern research and analysis of strategic power and battery initiatives. Represent USD R&E on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects. Assist, prepare and conduct meetings for current energy issues. Conduct battery and power research analysis. Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies as they apply to DoD's R&E program. Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD. Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with battery and power. Maintain and update modernization roadmaps, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders. Make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience of engineering, energy, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E)
  • Master’s degree in STEM and minimum of 5-years recent experience in energy storage
  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Previous experience with: Department of Defense RDT&E mission and processes.
  • Engineering, analysis of alternatives, integration, requirements, and testing.
  • Power and Battery programs.
  • Excellent writing, communication and briefing.
