If you want to be part of shaping the future of mobility, then read on! We are looking for a Battery Modeling & Simulation Lead to join our team. The goal of a Battery Modeling & Simulation Lead at Wisk is responsible for leading the overall modeling and simulation for ESPS. You will be part of the ESPS Energy Storage & Power System team that deliver the modeling and simulation solutions. Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Mountain View, CA office.

  • Development and characterization of the ESPS model including but not limited to cell, pack, system, power distribution, charging, power conversation subsystem.
  • Develop 0D, 1D, 3D modeling including thermal, electrochemical, electrical, mechanical, CFD, degradation, etc.
  • Assessment on battery architecture, performance. Analyze large sets of battery performance data to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cell engineers and ESS engineers, to integrate battery data into broader product development and enhance battery performance in the ESS product.
  • Collaborate with cell, test engineers to develop design of experiment for model characterization and validation.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive reports, visualizations, and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Release battery ESPS models at different level as plant model for verification and validation.
  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, PhD highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in battery, energy storage modeling and battery data analysis.
  • Deep understanding of Lithium-ion battery technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, matlab/simulink, with experience in data manipulation, physical modeling, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
  • Experience in different modeling simulation tools including but not limited to star ccm+, ansys, GT power, etc.
  • Experience working with large datasets, performing statistical analysis, and using data visualization tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret and analyze complex datasets.
