About The Position

The Battery Manufacturing Test Engineer will be part of the Battery Engineering group at Apple, focusing on developing and manufacturing innovative battery technologies. This role involves creating and implementing end-to-end testing strategies to enhance manufacturing processes for battery management systems, ensuring high efficiency and quality in production. The engineer will collaborate with various product development teams to push the boundaries of battery capabilities and improve customer experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
• 5 years of experience in design and manufacturing.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in an engineering field preferred.
• Previous electronics design experience preferred.
• Experience with hardware manufacturing processes.
• Experience working with international contract manufacturers.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end testing strategies for battery manufacturing processes.
• Design manufacturing test processes from surface mount technology (SMT) through systems integration at final assembly test process (FATP).
• Implement best practices in testing and drive the development of testing methodologies.
• Collaborate with contract test vendors to ensure manufacturing equipment meets metrology requirements.
• Own testing specifications to ensure complete coverage of design specifications using data-driven methods.
• Identify manufacturing trends and future capabilities needed in production.
• Specify tests to be performed, compile data, and compare against design specifications using Design of Experiments (DOE) and Six Sigma principles.
• Establish structured and consistent failure analysis processes at vendor sites.
