About The Position

Lakota Solutions is currently seeking a Battery Preventive Maintenance Technician for a 2nd shift role (3pm to midnight) at Robins Air Force Base, GA. The Battery Preventive Maintenance Technician will include the following duties, but not limited to: Preventive Maintenance for DLA Distribution and DLA Distribution D2 equipment on a daily basis. This maintenance service includes inspection and servicing by Contractor personnel for the purpose of maintaining equipment batteries (24v, 36v, 48v and 72v) in satisfactory operating condition. Conduct systematic inspection, detection, and correction of batteries in order to preclude failure, reduced service life and costly replacements. This inspection shall include checking electrolyte levels, cell voltage, specific gravity, cleanliness, battery and battery cable condition, and watering systems, if installed. Remove MHE equipment batteries with ¼ or less charge and replace with fully charged Government owned batteries. Inspect the removed battery, correct any discrepancies, and place the battery on the battery charger for the appropriate amount of hours for charging and cool down time before placing it back into service.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be US Citizen
  • Candidate must submit to and pass a criminal background check for Robins Air Force Base
  • Candidate must be able to lift up to 75 pounds multiple times per day (estimated weight of battery)
  • Candidate must be able to follow directions and have time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a maintenance/mechanical role
  • Prior experience working with heavy forklift batteries
