About The Position

The position involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing V-force, Enersys, and other makes of industrial batteries and chargers. The technician will perform planned maintenance on all battery and charger makes and will travel from job site to job site using a company-owned vehicle, which is also used for transporting tools and equipment. The role requires maintaining and managing paperwork related to the job.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of previous experience in field support within the DC Power and/or Telecom industry.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience working with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read with comprehension and write documents in English.
  • Ability to perform basic math operations.
  • Experience should be substantively in the Electrical related field.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical/Electronic/Electrical or related field.
  • 4-6 years of DC power installation experience.
  • An advanced understanding of DC Power.
  • Experience using test equipment and reading schematics.
  • Hands-on job experience.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on customer’s motive power equipment.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, and DOT Hazmat regulations.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment per OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean working environment.
  • Maintain records of performance reports.
  • Interact with all levels of people, both inside and outside the company.
  • Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service.
  • Provide the highest quality of service to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Function independently without direct supervision.
  • Complete compliance and job-specific training.
  • Replace defective parts, reassemble, and repair batteries and related equipment.
  • Install new equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
  • Be directly responsible for company assets, including a service vehicle, parts inventory, tools, and test equipment.
