About The Position

The Battery/Charger, Dock and Door Road Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial and warehouse equipment—including loading docks, doors, battery systems, and mechanical/electrical components—while ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction. Technicians also provide on-site support, perform preventative maintenance, and maintain detailed service records to support efficient operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree from a technical college preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with industrial or heavy machinery maintenance and repair.
  • Solid understanding of electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and engine systems.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability across a range of equipment.
  • Familiarity with construction or warehouse machinery and customer use cases.
  • Strong customer service focus with professional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for recordkeeping and equipment diagnostics.
  • Must own appropriate tools to perform job duties.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (minimum 5 years of driving experience).
  • Willing and able to operate a forklift safely and in compliance with company policy.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with all company, regulatory, and environmental standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with machine control/guidance systems and battery-powered equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair warehouse and industrial equipment, including loading docks, dock levelers, commercial/industrial doors, racking systems, safety bollards, barriers, and industrial fans.
  • Perform floor repairs and general warehouse infrastructure maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including LP/gas/diesel engines, electric motors, hydraulics, drive axles, brakes, lifting equipment, and control systems.
  • Conduct routine and major repairs in line with manufacturer specifications; safely block, chock, disassemble, and reassemble equipment as needed.
  • Inspect, maintain, and service customer battery and charging systems, including cleaning, watering, neutralizing, and replacing components.
  • Fuse lead battery parts using a gas torch and download/analyze charger data to resolve performance issues.
  • Install and commission equipment at customer sites to ensure full functionality and compliance with specifications.
  • Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance for equipment issues.
  • Offer pre-sale technical analysis, product demos, and post-sale customer support to ensure satisfaction and continuity.
  • Maintain accurate service records, performance reports, and parts inventory to support efficient operations.
  • Serve as a communication link between the customer and company to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations, including OSHA, DOT Hazmat, environmental standards, and ISO9000 compliance.
  • Participate in safety meetings and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Complete assigned technical training and certifications to stay current with evolving equipment and technology.
