About The Position

We are seeking an highly experienced Battery Cell Manufacturing Engineering leader to create, lead, and manage engineering teams responsible for the planning, engineering, installing and launch of battery cell manufacturing lines. This role will play a critical part in industrialize high-performance cell manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in tooling installation and launch of battery cell manufacturing plants/systems, strong leadership capabilities, and proven experience delivering complex manufacturing programs on time and within investment targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Manufacturing, or related field); Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with extensive experience in tooling installation and launch of battery cell manufacturing or high-volume manufacturing systems
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams and launch complex manufacturing lines from concept through ramp-up.
  • Experience working with external technology partners and equipment vendors on capital equipment projects.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to equipment suppliers during design/FAT, and to plant during launch.

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and manage battery manufacturing engineering teams to support the design, planning, and launch of battery cell manufacturing lines.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of battery cell manufacturing systems, including installation, commissioning, qualification, and production ramp-up.
  • Define manufacturing concepts, line layouts, equipment specifications, and process flows to meet performance, quality, cost, and safety targets.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with product design, operations, quality, supply chain, facilities, to ensure seamless program execution.
  • Partner closely with external technology partners, equipment suppliers, and system integrators to ensure manufacturing systems meet technical, investment, and timing requirements.
  • Establish engineering standards, lessons learnt and documentation to support scalable manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Track program milestones, budgets, and KPIs, and provide clear status reporting to senior leadership.
