About The Position

The Battery Cell Engineer is responsible for driving end-to-end battery development by integrating electrochemical, process, and mechanical engineering concepts into robust, scalable solutions. This role combines deep technical leadership with business technology planning to ensure successful implementation of new battery technologies across product development and manufacturing. The position leads the evaluation, introduction, and qualification of new materials, tooling, and fixtures, while ensuring readiness for production through the preparation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for both sample builds and assembly operations. The role also oversees product operational testing, including charge and discharge performance, cycle life validation, and failure analysis, translating data into actionable engineering improvements. In addition, the role is accountable for the design and optimization of battery thermal management solutions, performing simulations, theoretical calculations, and physical testing to validate performance. Through efficiency modeling and service life prediction, the role ensures products meet performance, reliability, and lifetime targets while supporting continuous improvement and innovation in battery technology.
