About The Position
As a Battery Assembly Technician at SAFT AMERICA, Inc., you will play a crucial role in the assembly of cell pairs and modules according to approved design data, which includes following specific procedures and drawings. Your responsibilities will encompass assembling a variety of products, ranging from unique single-piece units to repetitive runs of hundreds of units. This position requires you to occasionally communicate and collaborate with engineering teams to assist in developing robust assembly processes, ensuring that the assembly methods are efficient and effective. In addition to assembly tasks, you will be responsible for performing rework on assembled components based on both written and verbal instructions. You will also need to complete build documentation records, both in written and electronic formats, with a high level of precision and accuracy. Quality assurance is a key aspect of this role, and you will be expected to conduct visual inspections, dimensional verifications, and document reviews to ensure that all assembled products meet the required standards. Working with live cells, modules, and batteries will be a part of your daily tasks, requiring a strong focus on safety and attention to detail. You will need to demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude and a basic understanding of DC electrical circuits. The ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings and process specifications is essential, as is the capability to operate various hand tools and other manufacturing equipment. Good interpersonal and organizational skills are necessary, as you will be working both independently and as part of a team. Basic computer knowledge, particularly with Microsoft Office, will also be beneficial in this role.
