Major Duties and Responsibilities Provide scheduled and as-needed bathing and shower assistance in accordance with resident care plans. Perform NAC-level personal care, including bathing, oral hygiene, hair care, shaving, non-medical nail care, skin care, and dressing. Maintain resident dignity, privacy, choice, and confidentiality in compliance with resident rights. Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics and approved assistive devices (e.g., gait belts, shower chairs, mechanical lifts). Observe residents for changes in skin integrity, mobility, pain, behavior, or tolerance to bathing and promptly report concerns to licensed nursing staff. Accurately document care provided and resident observations per facility policy. Follow infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene and appropriate use of PPE. Clean, disinfect, and restock bathing equipment and bathing areas after each use. Respond to residents call lights and requests within NAC scope of practice. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, pull, and assist with resident transfers with or without mechanical assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the shift. Ability to work in wet, humid environments and tolerate exposure to cleaning and disinfecting agents. Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor. Follows established infection control policies and procedures. As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and skills competency. Assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining an ongoing quality assurance program for the activities department. Assists with obtaining necessary equipment and supplies and provide for their accessibility through organized storage. Performs administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting such to the Activity Director as required. Refers resident/families to appropriate social services personnel when indicated. May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, and/or odors throughout the day; encounter reactions from dust, tobacco smoke, disinfectants, and other air contaminants. Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases and/or conditions which include AIDS, Coronavirus, Hepatitis B, and Tuberculosis. May be subject to hostile or emotional residents, family members, visitors or personnel. Unit Support / Floor Coverage When resident needs or staffing demands require, assist with general NAC floor duties within scope of practice, including toileting, transfers, repositioning, call light response, and resident support, as directed by licensed nursing staff. Adjust workflow as directed by the Charge Nurse to support resident care needs while ensuring completion of assigned bathing services. Support continuity of care and resident safety during periods of increased acuity or staffing needs. Scope of Practice This position is limited to duties within the Washington State NAC scope of practice. Does not perform nursing assessments, administer medications, provide wound care, or make independent clinical judgments. All duties are performed under the supervision of licensed nursing staff in accordance with WAC 246-841 and WAC 388-97.
