About The Position

The Batcher/Slitter/Tubular Pad Operator manages the flow and outflow of products and materials from the dyehouse and to finishing and the dyehouse, which includes tasks such as batching lots against orders, transferring dyed lots to the proper machine to be prepared for finishing dyeing. Verifying quantities against each dye order and plating order so it can be easily moved and finished at the next step. Keeping a clean and organized workspace and ensuring fabric is kept clean and neatly folded. You will be required to run several different types of folding equipment and when padding a chemical mixture must be maintained. Will also be required to fill production jobs as needed by supervisor

Requirements

  • 18 Years of age with a valid NC ID and authorized to work in the US with transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to run and help maintain equipment.
  • Physical abilities to stand, walk and kneel on concrete floors, climb ladders, move 75-pound rolls, and reach above head.
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to lint, chemicals and heat in summer months.
  • Minimum education requirements include being able to read and write in English to fill out tickets, read and understand instructions and explain problems.
  • The job requires frequent communication with mechanics, lead and support personnel.
  • Must comply with all safety, quality and production requirements and instructions.
  • Ability to learn and analyze.
  • Desire to contribute to the company’s continuous improvement process.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be computer literate and be able to perform simple functions such as data input.
  • Ability to work during non-peak, off scheduled shift and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to learn, analyze, LISTEN AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTION!!

  • Must always maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Must be able to multitask and be cross trained.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk and kneel on concrete floors, climb ladders, lift 20-pound cones, move 75-pound rolls and reach above head to stock creels, bend/stoop, pull materials and sufficient dexterity to thread machines and tie knots.
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to lint, chemicals, and heat in summer months.
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Must comply with all safety, quality and production requirements and instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Manager on daily shipments and activities
  • Ensure orders are completed in a timely manner and done neatly.
  • Ensure buggies are clean and have a new liner for each order.
  • Utilize department resources (materials and equipment) for optimum department effectiveness
  • Keep orders together so they can be easily located for next step.
  • Keep area orderly and clean.
  • Inspect machines and containers for picks and cleanliness.
  • Provide backup assistance (and train on new duties) for the manager as needed or directed
  • Always work according to safety training guidelines
  • Always maintain high level of housekeeping. Keep aisles clean and clear. Floor swept and clean.
  • Reconcile ticketing, order, fabric irregularities, and other errors immediately.
  • Comply with and promote all company policies, standards, rules and regulations as documented in the company policy manual and subsequent postings, notifications and training sessions
  • Any other duties your supervisor direct you to perform.
