About The Position

The Batching Assistant is responsible for ensuring all products are prepared according to recipes. Follow all required work safe practices. This would include compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc. Essential Duties: Measure ingredients Take inventory and record lot numbers of ingredients used. Knowledge and usage of the FIFO system Complete daily sanitation tasks Run tests for butterfat and total solids Keep all support equipment clean to meet state and federal guidelines. Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs Follow Quality Assurance standards and collect required samples, as needed, for Quality Assurance testing. Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. Follow all required work safe practices. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 3+ months in manufacturing, dairy or another related field preferred
  • Forklift/Scissor Lift certified or willing to become certified
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to communicate when necessary to complete duties
  • Self-Driven and motivated to grow
  • Ability to work in cold and wet environment for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to work in various temperature-controlled zones ranging from cold to hot
  • Ability to operate equipment at recommended speeds and communicate mechanical and operational defects as they arise.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to frequently reach up to 31-77 inches.
  • Regularly stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl
  • Ability to reach and handle objects, tools, or controls
  • Regularly taste or smell product
  • Occasionally sit and occasionally climb ladders or work on a platform
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
