Bat Attendant
About The Position
The Wilson Warbirds Bat Attendant is an integral part of the team’s gameday operations, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for players, coaches, and fans. This position supports on-field activities by managing equipment, assisting players and staff, and contributing to the overall efficiency and excitement of the game environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have prior baseball knowledge or experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Prior Bat Attendant experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Drag bats, bring umpires baseballs, work bullpen, shag foul balls, etc.
- Responsible and not limited to filling coolers, restocking gum, seeds, towels, etc.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of all batting practice equipment, including BP nets, L-screens, protective cages, and ball buckets
- Retrieve and return all gameday items and equipment to and from the clubhouse
- Maintain professional and respectful attitude towards players, coaches, umpires, and fans
- Maintain awareness of game situations to ensure quick and safe retrieval of items from the field
- Assist with field tarp duties as necessary
