About The Position

ALL ASSIGNMENTS ARE CONTINGENT UPON SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS AND FUNDING. POSITIONS WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL THEY ARE FILLED. N.B. Applications should be submitted by all interested Teachers including those coaches who have served in the position in the past. Requirements

  • Knowledgeable of sport or activity.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Be able to successfully instruct and encourage athletes.
  • CPR/First Aid and Coaches Education and Concussion certified are requirements for all coaching candidates.
  • Must complete MIAA coaches education course.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee sport and travel program.
  • Select team for travel season.
  • Develop daily practice schedule.
  • Supervise students at all times.
  • Check on eligibility of all athletes.
  • Check attendance daily.
  • Establish rules and expectations for athletes.
  • Supervise students to away games on bus.
  • Issue equipment and collect it at the end of the season.
  • Secure building permits.
  • Be aware of MSSADA Rules and Regulations.
  • CPR Training and completion of the "Concussion in Sports" course (required.)
