Responsible for operation of basket de-nesting equipment. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Works with the jockey to unload baskets from return trailers from depot runs and ensure trailers are clear of debris when unloading is complete. Inspects baskets for cracks and breakage; removes damaged baskets from service. Loads baskets in de-nesting equipment. Keeps up with production flow; maintains adequate supply of clean baskets to Bread and Roll Packaging areas at all times. Resolves basket jams and other issues during basket conveyance. Performs Operator Asset Care (preventive maintenance) duties and other assignments as required by supervisor. Able to operate Basket Stacker and tasks assigned to the Basket Stacker Operator. Must support all plant safety, quality, SAP, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives. This support may include but is not limited to: serving in the role of 5S Leader, actively participating in all audits (i.e. Daily Sweep, Weekly Spot, etc.) and all aspects of team concepts, such as displaying a positive attitude, which are necessary to work collaboratively within a team environment. The person in this position must also perform other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor and/or manager. Although seniority is a primary consideration for awarding regular hourly (i.e., non-Key Operator) positions, consideration will also be given to attendance record, safety record, disciplinary record, quality of work, peer relationships, job performance, previous work history and experience.
