Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of medical assisting experience or completed externship
  • Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BMO) - License
  • Licensed Paramedic (PARA)
  • American Association Medical Assistants (AAMA) OR American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) OR American Medical Technologists (AMT) OR National Association for Healthcare Professionals-Medical Asst (NRCMA) OR National Center for Competency Testing-Medical Asst (NCMA) OR National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

Responsibilities

  • Cares for patients and performs a wide variety of patient care activities, including laboratory testing and radiographic exams.
  • Adheres to state, federal and organizational guidelines to ensure quality care and patient safety.
  • Maintains organization and facilitates patient flow.
  • Drives customer service initiatives by creating and owning the patient experience.
  • Performs basic radiological examinations, including all quality controls and clerical duties.
  • Processes reference laboratory specimens, including venipuncture, specimen handling, labeling, and tracking results.
  • Documents and reports all procedures and assessments in accordance with department policy.
  • Assesses patients during clinical check-in, documents pertinent medical information and vital signs.
  • Evaluates for signs of abuse or neglect.
  • Administers treatments, medications, and follow-up assessments as ordered by the provider.
  • Responds appropriately in clinical emergencies and triage situations.
