About The Position

Nacogdoches County EMS is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic to provide pre-hospital patient care as defined by the Texas Department of Health and the U.S. Department of Transportation. The position operates under local medical protocols and involves staffing the 9-1-1 Communications Center, taking 9-1-1 calls, and transmitting information to and from Emergency Medical Services personnel in the field. The EMT will also be responsible for operating emergency vehicles safely and in accordance with Texas laws and departmental policies. The role includes maintaining departmental standards, completing necessary EMS forms and documentation, and performing preventative maintenance on emergency vehicles. This position offers a full benefits package and a 24/72 work schedule, allowing for other employment opportunities if desired.

Requirements

• Texas Department of Health - Emergency Medical Technician - Basic certification (required)
• AHA BLS Certification (required)

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-hospital patient care as defined by the Texas Department of Health and the U.S. Department of Transportation for Emergency Medical Technician - Basic.
• Staff 9-1-1 Communications Center and take 9-1-1 calls.
• Transmit to and receive information from Emergency Medical Services personnel in the field.
• Operate all emergency vehicles in the Emergency Medical Services Department safely and in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the policies of the Emergency Medical Services Department.
• Maintain acceptable departmental standards of Emergency Medical Services, City and County roadways, traffic laws, use and care of equipment.
• Complete the necessary Emergency Medical Services forms and documentation.
• Perform preventative maintenance on emergency vehicles.
