About The Position

Provides instruction to students in classroom and shop environments. Duties/Responsibilities: Provides instruction to students across all relevant subjects in accordance with the Training Achievement Record (TAR). The topics to be covered include Safety, Panel repairs, replacements and adjustments; metal finishing; welding and additional subjects. Facilitates administration of all relevant student certification testing. Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms and documents. Responsible for accountability of all equipment, supplies, and materials within classroom and under custodianship. Conducts quarterly inventory of classroom equipment and materials. Responsible for reports required by the Supervisor such as monthly reports on case-management of students, purchase requisitions, and weekly student evaluations. Establishes & Maintains and relationships with student internship sites. Works with the Work-based Learning Coordinator to schedule and facilitate all student internships and work experiences for students to obtain hands-on work experience. Other Duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • State certified, licensed or accredited by a professional trade organization.
  • Must have practical experience in the subject/trade area if not state certified.
  • Must have the ability to transfer topical knowledge to meet specific learning objectives.
  • Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students
  • Knowledge of housekeeping techniques and management
  • Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
