About The Position

SIXGEN is actively seeking candidates to provide critical support for a variety of IC, DoD, and DoJ customers. The reverse engineer is a subject matter expert in software defined radios as well as the underlying protocols (e.g., WiFi, RF, etc...). Our reverse engineers also should be familiar with both reverse engineering and traditional embedded engineering of similar systems. This position will support SDR integration, development, testing, and evaluation. This role requires you to be a U.S. citizen with a current Top Secret clearance. Location: Sterling, Va.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of protocol specifications at the data link and PHY layers for one or more common RF transceiver technologies, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RFID, Cellular, VSAT
  • Experience integrating with Software Defined Radios (SDRs) and associated software packages (GNU Radio, SDKs) in a penetration testing environment
  • Experience performing reverse engineering (Ghidra or IDA Pro) of RF adapter/technology firmware to identify and create custom code functionality
  • Familiarity with analyzing and debugging RF signals using various hardware test equipment and software utilities
  • Working knowledge of embedded system architectures and code development practices to support feature developments and modifications
