About The Position

About i9 Sports i9 Sports is the nation’s first and largest provider of youth sports leagues, camps and clinics whose mission is to help kids succeed in life through sports. We offer sports programs for boys and girls ages 3-14 in today’s most popular sports like flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball and t-ball. About the Job The i9 Sports Baseball Instructor/official is responsible for enhancing the overall experience for the i9 Sports Baseball/T-Ball program. The Coordinator will oversee and lead each session of T-Ball/Baseball with the assistance of our Volunteer Coaches. The Baseball Instructor/Official will work with our volunteer coaches each week to ensure a positive, dynamic, and effective instructional experience is delivered. The position entails hands-on involvement with practices and games among all age groups and skills levels. Our age groups are generally broken up as follows: 3-4 yr olds - T-Ball 5-6 yr olds - Coach Pitch 7-8 yr olds - Coach Pitch Shifts are scheduled for weekends only on either Saturday and/or Sunday based on availability. Our venues are located at Mayfield Woods Middle School & Benjamin Banneker Middle School. Upcoming Schedule: Weekends Only - Saturday & Sunday Options April 18th to May 31st - Spring League June 20th to July 25th - Summer League Sept 12th to Oct 25th - Fall League

Requirements

  • Previous experience coaching or playing Baseball.
  • Knowledge of Baseball rules and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and parents.
  • A passion for youth sports and the development of young athletes.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Availability to work each weekend of the given season (Spring, Summer, etc.)
  • Ability to efficiently solve problems
  • Ability to motivate and manage others (i.e. coaches)
  • Extremely reliable and responsible
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Must have own vehicle/reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass background check

Responsibilities

  • Teach young athletes the fundamental skills and techniques of Baseball
  • Implement age-appropriate drills and exercises to enhance players' Baseball abilities (Practice plans created and provided by i9 Sports).
  • Provide constructive feedback to help players improve their performance.
  • Complete mandatory pre season training sessions (Financially Compensated)
  • Serve as an official for youth T-Ball & Baseball games, ensuring fair play and adherence to rules.
  • Maintain a professional and unbiased demeanor while officiating games.
  • Address rule violations and conflicts with fairness and diplomacy.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants during practices & games.
  • Supervise and manage groups of young athletes, maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Address any safety concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, participants, and fellow staff members.
  • Provide updates on program activities via Connecteam.
  • Address questions, concerns, and feedback from parents and participants professionally.
