About The Position

The Baseball Pitching Coach at Strike Academy is responsible for designing and facilitating customized training programs for youth baseball players aged 11 and up. This role emphasizes mentoring young athletes, enhancing their performance in pitching and throwing, and creating a positive training environment. The coach will work collaboratively with other staff to provide comprehensive training experiences and will have opportunities for professional growth and increased compensation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 1 year of experience developing baseball throwers.
  • High-level playing experience as a player (college or professional).
  • Proficient with office technologies and applications like Word, Excel, Email, and CRMs.
  • Ability to start on a full-time basis within 4 weeks or sooner of job acceptance.
  • Ability to work after school hours during the school-year (3pm-9pm).

  • Advanced comprehension with player assessment and evaluations, especially pertaining to throwing and pitching biomechanics and performance.
  • Expert in constructing hitting programs around amateur athlete schedules.
  • Proficient with video analysis in throwing skills.

  • Expert level knowledge of high-level throwing routines for baseball players.

Responsibilities

  • Design and facilitate customized training programs for baseball athletes, monitoring their progress and adjusting their programs as needed to maximize their performance.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate each player's greatest areas of need in pitching and throwing performance and use this information to design an appropriate training program for them.
  • Apply principles of anatomy and physiology when modifying or adjusting an athlete's training regimen and provide a detailed focus on technique and best practices for injury mitigation.
  • Contribute to, improve, and assist in managing our drill database and programming philosophies while keeping up-to-date with the latest research and trends in baseball throwing performance training.
  • Take new athletes through 1-on-1 training sessions to help them become fully acquainted with our training philosophies.
  • Create a positive, upbeat, fun, welcoming, and safe training environment for our athletes to excel in.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and performance staff to provide a comprehensive training experience across all of our training systems.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, providing positive feedback, motivation, and support to help them reach their goals.
  • Assisting in facility improvement projects, as well as other projects to enhance and improve our program.
