About the position
Assist in all activities relating to MLB Youth Academy baseball instruction.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of all baseball instruction including workouts, camps, clinics, gameplay, etc.
- Assist the Coordinator, Baseball Instruction in selecting players for travel teams, showcases, camps, etc.
- Help to coordinate all baseball activities and organize schedules for baseball instruction.
- Help to coordinate, facilitate and organize all baseball workouts, camps and clinics.
- Coach Academy baseball teams in workouts and gameplay as necessary.
- Submit reports to the Coordinator, Baseball Instruction as deemed necessary.
- Perform assigned tasks for special events and programs as directed by Coordinator, Baseball Instruction or Academy Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience as a player, coach or instructor.
- Organized, efficient and consistent positive communication skills.
- Team player ready to take direction.
- Solid organizational and scheduling skills.
- Possess the ability to organize baseball workouts and gameplay.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs, and computer scheduling programs.
- Able to instruct all facets of baseball.
