We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Base Camp Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will provide a safe and engaging environment for youth, facilitating activities and ensuring a positive experience for all participants. Requirements

  • Must be over the age of 16 years old.
  • Ability to work full-time, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physically capable of sitting, standing, and lifting children daily.
  • High levels of patience, empathy, and creativity.
  • Background check clearance through the Department of Health and Welfare or willingness to obtain.
  • Commitment to completing the annual IdahoSTARS training (12 hours).
  • Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to do basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to identify problems and derive possible solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of child development principles and the ability to employ positive redirection and behavior management.
  • Team-oriented, communicative, and responsive to the needs of children, families, and team.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining engagement and enthusiasm throughout daily routines and activities.
  • Previous childcare experience working in a childcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision: Monitor and supervise youth participants during activities to ensure safety and adherence to center policies.
  • Activity Coordination: Assist in the planning, organizing, and leading of recreational and educational activities, including sports, arts and crafts, games, and workshops.
  • Engagement: Foster positive relationships with youth, encouraging participation and inclusivity while promoting teamwork and respect.
  • Facility Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment, including equipment setup and cleanup after activities.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address any behavioral issues or conflicts among participants in a fair and constructive manner.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between youth, parents, and staff, providing updates on activities and addressing any concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
