About The Position

Join one of Northern California’s most respected mechanical engineering and construction firms as a BAS Project Manager . In this role, you will oversee the delivery of high-performance Building Automation Systems (BAS) supporting commercial and industrial facilities throughout theSacramento market. You’ll manage projects from initial planning through turnover—owning scheduling, budget oversight, technical coordination,and client communication. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned BAS professional who thrives in a fast-movingenvironment and enjoys full project ownership within a well-established and collaborative organization.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a BAS Project Manager or similar role in mechanical or controls contracting
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
  • Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, or building automation construction processes
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple active projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with both Design-Build and Plan & Spec environments is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute Building Automation Controls projects from kickoff through closeout
  • Develop and track project budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and expectation alignment
  • Maintain control over project costs to meet financial and margin objectives
  • Prepare, review, and process change orders and scope adjustments
  • Coordinate field operations, subcontractors, and internal project support teams
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and work closely with purchasing on materials and vendor selection
  • Conduct site visits to verify quality, safety, and adherence to project specifications
  • Identify potential risks early and apply corrective actions to avoid delays
  • Manage final project delivery including documentation, commissioning support, and client turnover
