BAS Project Manager
About The Position
Join one of Northern California’s most respected mechanical engineering and construction firms as a BAS Project Manager . In this role, you will oversee the delivery of high-performance Building Automation Systems (BAS) supporting commercial and industrial facilities throughout theSacramento market. You’ll manage projects from initial planning through turnover—owning scheduling, budget oversight, technical coordination,and client communication. Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a BAS Project Manager or similar role in mechanical or controls contracting
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, or building automation construction processes
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple active projects
Nice To Haves
- Experience with both Design-Build and Plan & Spec environments is preferred
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute Building Automation Controls projects from kickoff through closeout
- Develop and track project budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and expectation alignment
- Maintain control over project costs to meet financial and margin objectives
- Prepare, review, and process change orders and scope adjustments
- Coordinate field operations, subcontractors, and internal project support teams
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and work closely with purchasing on materials and vendor selection
- Conduct site visits to verify quality, safety, and adherence to project specifications
- Identify potential risks early and apply corrective actions to avoid delays
- Manage final project delivery including documentation, commissioning support, and client turnover
