About The Position

The BAS Construction Technician is a key member of the Operations team, responsible for the design assistance, implementation, and commissioning of temperature control systems for high-performance HVAC systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. This role ensures that projects are delivered with technical precision while adhering to strict safety and documentation standards. The technician will assist in developing and maintaining the design of complex temperature control systems, participate in project planning and scheduling, and develop, generate, and maintain all project-specific documentation. Key responsibilities also include leading the initial start-up phases for building automation systems, executing rigorous system checkouts, and managing the formal turnover process to the client. The role involves participating in post-project reviews to identify improvements for future installations, providing comprehensive training to customers, and strictly adhering to Setpoint Systems and customer-specific safety standards, proactively providing safety awareness and oversight on all work sites.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in HVAC systems or specialized technical training.
  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment with strong leadership and communication skills (both written and oral).

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Experience acting as or working for a Systems Integrator.
  • Willingness to complete extensive product training (provided by the company).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining the design of complex temperature control systems and related HVAC products.
  • Actively participate in project planning and scheduling to ensure milestone delivery.
  • Develop, generate, and maintain all project-specific documentation from inception through completion.
  • Lead the initial start-up phases for building automation systems.
  • Execute rigorous system checkouts and manage the formal turnover process to the client.
  • Participate in post-project reviews to identify improvements for future installations.
  • Provide comprehensive training to customers to ensure they are self-sustaining in managing their new systems.
  • Adhere strictly to Setpoint Systems and customer-specific safety standards.
  • Proactively provide safety awareness and oversight on all work sites.
