About The Position

Proof of the Pudding is the food service provider for RICE University Athletics. We are looking for bartenders to join our game day team! ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for both pre & post bar set-up/breakdown responsibilities. Sets bar up in a timely manner, including icing down product. Communicates well with bar back personnel during the event to assist them with replenishment during shift. Greets all guests and gives exceptional customer service. Operations a point of sale system to collect funds. Attentive to guests needs throughout the entire event. Cleans bar after closing, discard excess ice. Record closing inventory used to balance bar consumption vs sales. Responsible for putting away all inventory as directed. Follows all federal, local, and venue alcohol policies. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1+ years of bartending experience
  • Must be extremely hardworking and organized.
  • Must be exceedingly responsible and accountable.
  • Maintain good grooming and personal hygiene.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Renowned time management and organization skills.
  • Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to go above and beyond a client’s needs.
  • The ability to work alone and as a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.
  • Prolonged periods of being in one place, moving through an event space, and traveling from venue to venue.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting up-to 30 pounds.
  • Demonstrate comprehension of the job, including policies, practices, and relationships.
  • Possess the expertise and skill levels required of the job and perform with quality.
  • Dependable, reliable and follows through on projects from inception to completion.
