What You’ll Bring to the Bar A fun, engaging personality—you connect with guests, not just serve them Creativity behind the bar (signature drinks, presentation, flair) Flexibility to work AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays Strong sense of accountability and teamwork What You’ll Do Welcome guests with energy and create a lively, inviting bar atmosphere Take, prepare, and serve beverage and occasional food orders accurately and efficiently Mix, garnish, and present drinks following standard recipes while maintaining quality and consistency Prepare drinks for servers to ensure seamless guest service across the outlet Manage bar setup and daily stocking (beer, wine, spirits, garnishes, supplies) based on business levels Maintain freshness and quality of all perishable items (fruit, juices, garnishes) Handle cash and POS transactions accurately, including balancing and closing procedures Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area at all times, perform start and end of shift duties Support fellow team members and step in where needed to keep operations running smoothly Safety, Standards & Accountability Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and health standards Maintain a clean, polished, and professional appearance Report any safety concerns, incidents, or irregularities promptly Secure all inventory, equipment, and cash handling processes Stay informed on emergency and fire prevention procedures Why You’ll Love It Here Guest-focused environment Opportunity to showcase creativity and personality Be part of a collaborative, service-driven team Work in the vibrant setting of Old San Juan Qualifications Bilingual - Conversational English and Spanish Required Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages. Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes. Sufficient manual dexterity in hands to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock. Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions. Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel. Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items. Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker. Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift. Lifting Fifty (30) pounds maximum. Constant standing & walking required. Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
