About The Position

Seeking a professional, full-time bartender to provide exceptional service and enhance the dining experience within our distinguished senior living community. Bartender $16.25 to $18.54 hourly / Based on Experience This position does not receive tips Available Schedule (Subject to Change): Full Time Weekdays & Weekends Vary Shifts scheduled between 10:30am-8:30pm Position will also be responsible for Server duties Location: Royal Oaks Retirement Community 10015 W. Royal Oak Road Sun City, AZ 85351 Cross streets are 99th and Grand Avenue Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Dining Room Manager, provide high quality customer service during all events including accurate accounting of all transactions and inventory. Prepare standard mixed drinks and pour wine and beer. Provides high quality, friendly service to residents and guests of Royal Oaks in the dining areas and at special functions.

Requirements

  • Must have basic working knowledge of cash register and cash handling procedures.
  • Must have sufficient math ability to accurately count and handle money.
  • Must have basic working knowledge of bar operation.
  • Must have ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work.
  • Is organized, able to multi-task, think creatively and adapt to different situations.
  • Maintain a positive, customer service oriented attitude at all times.
  • Strong knowledge of sanitary practices.
  • Work ethic encourages strong urgency and quality in a team environment.
  • Must be able to complete training on computer and/or other devices.
  • Maintain competency in the position and knowledge of trade/industry advances and new technologies.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of staff, residents, and guests.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have bartending experience.
  • Obtains Title 4 certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Obtains a Maricopa County food handler’s card within 30 days of employment.
  • Is able to carry/lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
  • May need to operate a fire extinguisher.
  • Is able to assist in evacuation procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably has a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Preferably has experience working in a formal dining environment.
  • If applicable, has a Certificate of Completion for memory care services training or obtains within 30 days of hire and complies with annual certification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing drinks quickly, accurately, and without waste.
  • Serve and interact with residents and guests.
  • Sets up and services individual beverage locations.
  • Check identification of guests to ensure they meet the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcohol.
  • Properly handle cash or tickets.
  • Accurately verifies all cash and liquor inventory with supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Verifies cash register is programmed properly, according to Royal Oaks approved prices.
  • Enforce all liquor laws.
  • Attends to residents’ and guests needs when delivering beverages and checks to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Greets residents and guests in a friendly manner within two minutes of being seated.
  • Verify and account for all liquor inventory on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Order and maintain liquor, beer and wine inventory; stock and prepare garnishes for drinks; maintain an adequate supply of ice, glasses, and other bar supplies; keep the bar area clean and sanitized. Washes the glassware and utensils after each use.
  • Develop and maintain attractive displays out of bottles and glassware.
  • Controls usage of all beverage items as well as correct usage of equipment, tools, and service products by bar staff. Conducts monthly inventory, maintaining established guidelines.
  • Reports to in appropriate clean and pressed uniform, for assigned location.
  • Keeps the Food Service Management Team promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
