About The Position

At Derby City Gaming Downtown, gaming enthusiasts can enjoy nearly 500 of the most popular games, Fascinator Wine Bar and Trophy Bourbon & Cigars Bar, sports bar with live entertainment most weekends and a Kentucky Derby Gift Shop.” JOB SUMMARY The Bartender is responsible for providing the guests with excellent service in a timely manner and to assist the beverage servers with orders to assure quality guest service and provide patrons with a favorable gaming experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Consistently prepares drinks according to Derby City Gaming Downtown recipes and specifications for guests and fulfills cocktail servers' orders in a timely manner. Responsible for cleanliness of the bar area. Assists with inventory control, stocking, and proper rotation of product. Responsible for preparing and selling all drinks on the menu and handling all transactions in accordance with cash handling policy. Responsible for set up and breakdown of bar area as well as side work and projects as necessary. Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe handling of alcohol. Ensure the safety and security of Team Members and guests. Responsible to perform “responsible alcohol service” with regards to guest limitations and pass any/all responsible alcohol service training. Interacts and speaks with guests to maintain great guest relations and provide opportunities for loyalty to occur Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge of all bar equipment, cash registers, and the company's beverage system.
Maintaining interpersonal working relationship among all personnel.
Oral and written communication skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high pressure, high volume demands.
Black Non-slip shoes required.
A high school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience preferred.
Two or more years of experience bartending preferred.
Ability to obtain a valid Racing License.
