About The Position

The Bartender is responsible for providing high-quality beverage service to guests in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. This role is accountable for preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to company standards, maintaining a clean and organised bar area, ensuring compliance with alcohol laws, and creating a welcoming guest experience that supports overall restaurant profitability.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in fast paced environment, able to make speciality drinks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, not required.
  • English verbal communication skills; second language a plus.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages and knowledge of ABC laws.
  • Excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to multitask.
  • Possess or has the ability to obtain Alcoholic Beverage Certification and Food Handler permits.
  • Ability to efficiently operate a Point-of-Sale terminal.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business information.
  • Knowledge of classic and specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits
  • Ability to operate POS systems accurately
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong communication and guest service skills
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions
  • Requires standing/walking/bending throughout the shift and the ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
  • Ability to walk on varying terrain, including hard floors, tile,e and sand for multiple hours, as well as perform in a hot and humid environment.
  • Responsible for maintaining hydration at all times.
  • Walk for long periods of time, possibly over extended distances.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes and standards
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the bar, bar top, wells, and back bar at all times
  • Accurately ring in all beverages and maintain proper cash and POS handling procedures
  • Verify guest identification and comply with all state and local alcohol service laws
  • Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to ensure a positive experience
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and responsibly refuse service when necessary
  • Follow proper handling, storage, and rotation of all beverage products
  • Communicate effectively with barbacks, servers, and management to support service flow
  • Assist with opening and closing bar duties
  • Participate in inventory counts and receiving beverage deliveries
  • Assist with special events, beach service, or tiki deck operations
  • Assist in training new bartenders or barbacks as directed by management
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform Oyster Shucking / Barback duties as needed
