About The Position

Bartenders at the Whitewater Center are responsible for providing friendly and responsive service to all guests at Whitewater. The Bartender will take orders from guests, distribute orders to guests, and maintain a positive dining experience. The Bartender is a part-time, on-site, hourly position that reports directly to the Front of House Managers.The Food and Beverage Department delivers exceptional, chef-driven culinary service to Whitewater guests. Whitewater is home to diverse and ever-evolving food and beverage outlets, including full-service and fast-casual dining options. In addition, the Food and Beverage Department oversees catering for private events and Adventure Dining.Whitewaters mission is rooted in the belief that we all share a genetic code that compels us to play outside and share these experiences with others. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
  • Ability to suggestively sell food and drinks and inform customers about food preparation details.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during Whitewater events as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe alcohol certification or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledgeable in local, regional, and national beer and wine selections
  • 1-2 years bartending in a high volume, casual dining atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a quality dining experience in the bar area- accurately take orders, submit orders to kitchen, deliver items to guests, refill glasses, etc.
  • Stay open and attentive to the needs of the guest.
  • Handle cash transactions and operate a restaurant point-of-sale system.
  • Stay current and be able to inform guests of food options, drink options, and specials.
  • Maintain a clean dining environment- pre-bus and buss tables, sweep floors, etc. as needed.
  • Perform assigned side work tasks and efficiently make use of downtime.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of operating hours, activities, and products offered outside of Food and Beverage department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
