About The Position

The Staybridge Suites Rochester University Hotel is looking for a candidate that will bring flair, creativity, and high energy to our new Staybridge Suites' The Bar and our Banquet events. “The Bar” at Staybridge is a new concept for the brand and will offer beverage and small plate food options prepared bar side. Our Banquet Bartender would be maintaining and serving guests during weddings, corporate and other social events held in our banquet rooms. The perfect candidate must have experience in fast paced environment, ability to multitask and adapts to the changing and diverse clientele. In the Staybridge Suites "The Bar", the Bartender is responsible for preparing drink and food orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems, providing the highest quality service to guests and servers, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hours of operation while also maintaining control over the liquor inventory. Our featured food items are a quick and easy preparation designed to be prepared and cooked right at the bar. Please note that this is not an entry-level position. We are looking for individuals who have previous bartending experience or relevant skills in the food service industry. Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic math for handling cash transactions
  • Familiarity with POS systems for order processing and payment handling
  • Ability to handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell and promote special.

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe and Tips certification is a plus but not necessary. For qualified candidates Tips and ServSafe training will be provided.
  • Experience in sales, catering, or retail math is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers.
  • Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area.
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Collect payment from customers and process transactions accurately.
  • Monitor customer behavior and ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Restock bar inventory and supplies as needed.
