About The Position

Position Overview: Bartenders are required to be Team Member focused on providing exceptional Guest service and providing high quality alcoholic beverages to our Guests of legal drinking age. Exceptional Guest service entails being fast and efficient while still maintaining safety, being Texas-friendly, being accurate, and having great personal integrity and responsibility. Our bartenders will be Guest service driven, exceptionally Texas-friendly, take and make drink orders for both bar Guests and for cabana servers and always keep our bars clean and in an orderly condition. Bartenders must know the specialty drink menu, the draft and bottled beer selections, and be able to explain them to Guests. Our bartenders must also be knowledgeable about the park and assist Guests in many other ways. Must sign-off and show 100% adherence to the park’s TABC approved alcoholic beverage service plan.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be open and willing to learn new things
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, and a team player
  • Must follow all health department, TABC, City and County alcohol requirements and maintain a clean working environment
  • Understands and supports the Typhoon Texas Culture
  • Uses excellent judgement and follows the Typhoon Texas Austin alcohol and tip policy
  • Identifies problems and works quickly to find solutions
  • Works effectively with others, on all levels, in a positive and professional manner
  • Has excellent communication skills which includes the ability to use clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and oral language in interactions with Guests, fellow Team Members, and Management
  • This position may require you to work in other positions, locations, and/or departments if needed
  • Must be willing to complete all tasks given by Typhoon Texas leadership.
  • If you do not have a Typhoon Texas approved and current Food Handler's Permit and/or TABC Certification, you will be required to obtain one at your expense
  • May be required to stand for extended periods of time
  • May be required to lift 20-50 lbs.
  • May be required to be exposed to direct sunlight, hot temperatures, or rain.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work well with others
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Must have or be willing to obtain the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Alcohol Seller/Server Certification
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Food Handler's Permit

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with servers, leadership, and other team members
  • Knowledgeable on all specialty cocktails and beer
  • Knowledgeable on all liquor we carry
  • Greet all Guests with enthusiasm and a smile
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including tools, glassware, and supplies
  • Restock bar inventory and communicate supply needs to leadership
  • Monitor guest consumption and respond appropriately to ensure a safe environment
  • Accurately charge and pay out Guest
  • ID all Guest that look under the age of 35
  • Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
