About The Position

The Bartender is responsible for providing superior service, interacting with guests, and providing the best possible guest experience while ensuring consistent drink quality. As a Bartender, you will prepare orders in a fast-paced environment while following recipes and guidelines established by the Food and Beverage department. You will provide superior guest service while maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment as a member of the Marcus Theatres Food and Beverage team. This position reports to a member of the theatre management team or General Manager (reporting may vary by location).

Requirements

  • Possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Willing and motivated to learn new skills and tasks to meet the changing demands of the industry
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts to include days and nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • A minimum of six(6) months of work experience
  • Ability to learn and use the Aloha Point Of Service System
  • Accuracy in transactions and cash-handling skills
  • Ability to obtain relevant training certificate and/or licensure
  • Ability to follow all cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene practices as mandated by the company and local regulatory agencies
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
  • The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, and/or walk often.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • The noise level is usually moderate to high with an occasional loud environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare beverages for our guests
  • Attend to guests and provide an excellent guest experience by interacting with guests, being attentive, taking orders and serving food and drinks
  • Follow company food safety policies, as well as those of local regulatory agencies
  • Possess full knowledge of bar and menu items
  • Assess guests' needs and preferences to make recommendations
  • Verify that guests who purchase alcohol are at least 21 years of age
  • Set up and maintain appropriate stock levels for the bar
  • Clean and sanitize all areas in the bar and lounge area for guests and associates
  • Monitor and communicate social distancing guidelines
