Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for greeting each guest promptly with a friendly greeting and smile Serves Alcoholic beverages within department and state liquor law guidelines Prepares all drinks with proper portions and ingredients in accordance with company policies and service standards. Engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and be able to resolve small issues when necessary Maintains a respectful control over guests at all times Monitors guests’ consumption of alcoholic beverages and intervenes as necessary following C.A.R.E. guidelines Processes all cash transactions by accepting money and making necessary change accurately and presents customers with bar receipt. Maintains a clean, organized, and fully stocked area in accordance with company policies Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to departmental and company policies. Qualifications : Must be at least 21 years of age. Previous cash handling and P.O.S. register experience. Must have at least 1 year of bartending experience in a high paced, well-established organization Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills. Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner. Must be willing to participate in on-going training in the food and beverage field. Maintain knowledge of current property events, promotions and attractions. Must have outgoing personality and be able to generate business. Must be able to work independently, with little supervision. Comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Must present a well-groomed appearance. Must adhere to uniform/appearance requirements. Ability to appreciate and be friendly with all Harrah’s Gulf Coast team members who are of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Able to accept direction of Senior Leadership. Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands: Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to converse over the telephone in an environment with loud background noise. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stoop, bend and reach. Able to use hand motion when preparing and pouring all types of drinks for customers and cocktail servers. Able to use hand motion when cleaning and wiping bar counter. Able to bend, pull and carry bar stock to refrigerators and cabinets. Responds to visual and verbal cues. Able to complete required paperwork for cash transactions. Able to operate a variety of equipment. Must be able to simultaneously handle the demands of many customers. Must present a pleasant and professional appearance that customers will find appealing and easy to approach in order to initiate and engage in conversation
