About The Position

Bartender will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance to the Luminary Hotel & Co. service standards and standards of Mainsail Lodging & Development. Bartenders will also be responsible for making alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by the recipe and delivering high quality food and drinks in a clean and friendly environment. Position: Bartender Location: Fort Myers, FL Reports to: Beacon General Manager, Assistant Manager, and Supervisor Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly), Seasonal.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or higher
  • Previous hospitality experience required
  • Minimum 2-year bartending experience in high volume bar or restaurant preferable in the Southwest, Florida area
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds or more
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Corrected vision to normal range
  • Ability to work long hours as needed
  • Make sound judgments quickly
  • Work on multiple tasks, making appropriate progress towards deadlines
  • Able to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to others
  • Manage differing personalities within the office, the hotel, and the community

Responsibilities

  • General knowledge of cocktail crafting and mixology fundamentals
  • Curate guests’ bar experience by making recommendations
  • Knowledge of all beverages to include liquors and wines
  • Serves guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of service
  • Knowledge of proper cocktail making, as trained by Luminary Hotel & Co.
  • Have necessary tools to run the shift such as pen, corkscrew, any bar tools, etc.
  • Ability to pair wines with meals
  • Understanding that bar serves full menu and must be prepared as much to serve full coursed or shared meals to guests
  • Light food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hot
  • Knowledge of all menu items to include: prep time, preparations, sauces, allergies, and accompaniments
  • Collect payment for food and beverages served
  • Follow practices to ensure safe and responsible serving of alcohol
  • Be aware of any specials, soups, drinks, and any items that are running low
  • Ability to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time so as not to affect the guest experience
  • Follow cash handling procedures, and must be able to explain shortages and overages
  • Maintain bar area
  • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment
  • Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests.
