JOB SUMMARYThe Bartender is responsible for providing excellent guest service by preparing cocktails and beverages for guests and servers.

Requirements

  • Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong and accurate money handling skills.
  • Ability to work under stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe handling of alcohol.
  • Knowledge of all bar equipment, cash register, and company beverage system as well as wines, alcohol, and mixed drinks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training in mixing a variety of alcoholic beverages.
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must obtain and maintain Serv-Safe certificate.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid racing license.

Responsibilities

  • Takes beverage orders from guests and checks identification to verify age requirements.
  • Promotes brands and products to increase sales.
  • Prepares cocktails and beverages for guests and servers according to recipes and specifications.
  • Performs set up and breakdown of bar area as well as side work and projects as needed.
  • Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the bar/work area in accordance with company and health department standards by arranging bottle displays, sweeping, wiping counter tops, removing trash, etc.
  • Assists with inventory control, stocking, and proper rotation of product.
  • Performs responsible alcohol service with regards to guest limitations.
  • Completes monetary transaction using a point-of-sale system by maintaining cash drawer, accepting cash or card for payment, returning correct change, etc.
  • Maintains knowledge of all menu items and prices as well as related regulations for drink preparation and storage.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
