About The Position

Purpose The Bartender delivers friendly, professional, and timely service while preparing and serving beverages in accordance with company standards and applicable laws. This role ensures a well-stocked, clean, and safe bar environment and creates memorable guest experiences.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year bartending experience in a hotel, restaurant, or high-volume bar preferred.
  • Knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
  • Strong guest service, communication, and problem-solving skills; calm under pressure.
  • Proficient with POS systems and basic cash handling.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol; TIPS/TEAM/ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred (or obtained within 30 days).
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods; lift/push/pull up to 30 lbs; frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to specification; follow all recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
  • Verify guest age and identification; practice responsible alcohol service and intervene/refuse service when appropriate.
  • Engage guests with warm, attentive hospitality; anticipate needs, make recommendations, upsell thoughtfully, and resolve concerns promptly.
  • Set up, stock, and break down bar each shift (garnishes, glassware, mixers, ice, beer/wine/spirits); maintain par levels.
  • Operate POS accurately; handle cash, credit, comps, and room charges; balance bank and complete end-of-shift paperwork.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bar, tools, and service areas; comply with health, safety, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with servers, hosts, and culinary team to ensure smooth, timely service.
  • Monitor inventory, note variances, and assist with ordering, receiving, and monthly counts.
  • Support outlet goals for guest satisfaction, revenue per cover, and check averages.
  • Perform side work and other duties as assigned.
