About The Position

The Westwinds Bartender at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort delivers exceptional guest service while crafting tropical cocktails and refreshing beverages in a vibrant, open-air tiki bar setting directly on the beach. This role requires working outdoors in a dynamic beachfront environment, engaging with guests seeking a relaxed, fun, and memorable beach experience.

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hour shifts) on indoor and outdoor surfaces
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, sun, wind, and occasional rain
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25–40 lbs (cases of beverages, kegs, ice bins, bar supplies)
• Capability to bend, twist, reach, kneel, and stoop to access low storage areas and bar equipment
• Manual dexterity to handle glassware, bar tools, cash handling, and POS systems efficiently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining safety and awareness
• Comfortable navigating wet, sandy, or uneven surfaces while carrying trays or supplies
• Ability to push/pull carts, coolers, and bar equipment as needed
• Strong stamina to keep up with continuous guest interaction and service demands
• Clear communication skills to interact with guests and team members in a lively, sometimes loud outdoor setting
• Ability to maintain a neat, professional appearance in a warm, tropical environment
• Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, evenings, and peak resort seasons

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve tropical cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks with speed and accuracy
• Provide friendly, personalized service to guests enjoying the beach and tiki bar atmosphere
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including beverage stations and equipment
• Handle cash and POS transactions accurately
• Enforce responsible alcohol service policies
• Work efficiently outdoors, often in hot, sunny, and sandy conditions
