About The Position

Bartender Job Description Company: Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club Location: Mt. Arlington, NJ Starting Pay: Based on experience starting at $18+/hr Employment Type: Part-Time (20-30 hours/week) Employment Period: July through October (Can be flexible) Standard Shift Duration: 4-10 hours (pending business needs) Club Open: Tuesday- Sunday and holiday Mondays 9am- 12pm (pending on day and scheduled events) Job Purpose: Provide high-quality and memorable beverage and food service to private members in the bar area on beautiful Lake Hopatcong! What are we looking for? Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older 1+ years of experience as a bartender in a restaurant, bar, club, hotel, etc. Must be available to work weekends Able to meet the physical requirements of the role. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk the duration of a scheduled shift Ability to lift up to 50 LBS. (dishes, glassware, trays of food, etc) Ability to perform basic computer functions Must be able to handle hot, cold and moderate noise interior and outdoor conditions Continuous repetitive motions Ability to read, write, speak and understand English What are the Key Responsibilities? Greet and acknowledge members and guests Prepare and execute drinks/beverage orders (wine, beers, cocktails, etc) Efficiently serves, re-sets and clears food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner Makes recommendations regarding menus, buffet, wine, beer and cocktail list. Takes food orders and delivers food to guests promptly after preparation. Maintains supply and sanitation of bar area, products and supplies including glassware, equipment, garnishes, expendable paper and other supplies Consistently follows local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of food and alcoholic beverages to members and guests. Inspects the bar prior to and after shift to ensure adequate supplies and inventory are available Verifies accuracy of bill, prices, state and federal taxes and other charges on checks through Point of Sales System (POS) Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned Proficiently perform any ad hoc duties to support the bar, kitchen, members, etc What can you expect from LHYC?
