About The Position

The Bartender prepares and serves beverages while creating a welcoming, guest-first experience that reflects Sand Valley’s hospitality. This role balances craft and efficiency through consistent drink execution, a well-maintained bar, and close collaboration with the Food & Beverage team to support smooth, reliable service.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old by first day of employment.
  • Clear and effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible availability, including nights and weekends as operational needs require.
  • Positive attitude with a professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the bar and service areas for extended periods, up to five hours at a time, while bending, reaching, and safely handling bar tools, glassware, and supplies.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, and lighter items consistently.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • One or more years of bartending experience preferred.
  • Completion of Learn2Serve Training for Alcohol, Food Handling and Tobacco prior to or within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up the bar for service by checking supply levels, restocking as needed, and assembling garnishes, mixes, and pre-batched items.
  • Welcome guests promptly and provide friendly, attentive bar service.
  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to approved recipes, portion standards, and service expectations.
  • Maintain knowledge of the beverage menu to assist guests with selections and pairings.
  • Accurately process guest checks and payments through the POS system.
  • Address guest questions or concerns with care and involve a manager when appropriate.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, tools, and equipment throughout the shift.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for liquor, beer, wine, tobacco, and related supplies, including daily counts and required reporting.
  • Close down, clean, and secure the bar area at the end of service.
  • Support overall Food & Beverage operations by assisting with additional tasks as needed.
